A life-saving intervention by the Kofi Job Foundation has provided much-needed medical equipment to the Tafo Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region, significantly improving treatment for childhood diseases and saving the lives of over 300 babies.
The foundation donated four essential pieces of medical equipment worth GHC 100,000, responding to an earlier request from the hospital. The items include a phototherapy machine, a vein finder, two C-PAP machines, and four suction machines. The equipment was officially handed over to the hospital on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Dr. Esther Gyebi, Chief Executive Officer of the Kofi Job Foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting healthcare facilities and individuals in critical need. She reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to enhancing pediatric healthcare and ensuring that hospitals have the necessary resources to treat childhood illnesses effectively.
Dr. Grace Naado, Head of the Pediatric Department, expressed deep gratitude for the donation. She highlighted the significance of the phototherapy machine, noting that the hospital previously lacked this vital equipment, which made the treatment of childhood jaundice extremely difficult. She emphasized that with these new resources, approximately 300 children who previously had no access to proper medical intervention will now receive the care they need.
Dr. Naado praised the foundation’s generosity, stressing that this support will have a profound impact on the hospital’s operations and the quality of pediatric care provided to the community.
