Place embargo on ill-acquired properties of NPP appointees

Assin Central Member of Parliament on the ticket of National Democratic Congress(NDC), Nurein Shaibu Migyimah Has accused New Patriotic Party (NPP) appointees of offloading properties they allegedly acquired through corrupt means during the tenure of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Otafrigya Kwesi Apea-Apreku on Accra 100.5 FM on Thursday, February 20, Mr Migymah claimed that many of these appointees are disposing of the properties to avoid potential legal action by the current government.

He urged authorities to impose an embargo on these properties until thorough investigations can be conducted.

According to Migymah, the properties in question were obtained through nepotistic deals and misuse of state power, with some assets being taken away from the suffering masses.

He alleged that some of them are selling the properties they ill-acquired to third-party owners to elude the government

“If you steal from the people, it must be reserved for the people,” he warned, calling for swift legal proceedings against those involved.

He also contrasted this situation with the tenure of President John Mahama, asserting that Mahama’s government had the people’s interests at heart and had taken steps to prevent the exploitation of public resources.

He stressed that some of the properties are held in the name of unborn grandchildren

The NPP took Ghana as a nation like their own property thinking that Ghanaians were stupid, he argued

Some NPP appointees stole as much as one million dollars from the state indicating how greedy the said appointees were when the people lacked ordinary potable water.

Migymah’s remarks add to the growing debate over property acquisitions during previous administrations and the need for accountability in government appointments.

We lead the attack for some of these NPP appointees to cough it up, he concluded
