Ghana Link Network Services Ltd., operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), has assured the public and stakeholders in the shipping, logistics, and transport sectors that no data was lost during the temporary system interruption on October 23, 2024.

In response to concerns raised by The Transport Forum Ghana LBG, Ghana Link clarified that the brief disruption was part of a scheduled system optimization aimed at enhancing performance and data security, not a system failure or deliberate shutdown.

“We emphasise that the October 23 event was a planned IIupgrade of our storage infrastructure to improve efficiency and security,” the company stated.

“The system was fully restored within a short period, and operations resumed as expected.”

Reassuring users about data integrity, Ghana Link confirmed that all attached documents and historical records from 2020 to 2024 remain secure and accessible.

“Some users may have experienced temporary access issues during the upgrade, but no data has been lost,” the statement read.

“All information remains retrievable through the ICUMS system.”

Addressing data security concerns, Ghana Link underscored its adherence to Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

“We uphold the highest data protection standards. There has been no breach of data confidentiality during or after the upgrade,” the company added.

Freight forwarders and businesses experiencing any access difficulties have been encouraged to contact the ICUMS Support Team via 0302750140/0596921182 or email info@icums.gov.gh.

“We are committed to assisting all users promptly and ensuring seamless access to trade records, customs entries, and related documents,” Ghana Link emphasized.

Reiterating its commitment to efficiency and transparency, Ghana Link, in collaboration with the GRA Customs Division, assured stakeholders of ongoing engagement to strengthen Ghana’s trade facilitation system.

“Our priority remains delivering a robust, secure, and efficient platform for all stakeholders within the customs and trade ecosystem,” the company concluded.
