A Colonial Boomerang in West Asia

In my article, “Israel: a Bastard Behaving True to Type,” I gave some Yoruba proverbs that perfectly described the Zionist colonial entity called Israel.

1. Ti ilé ba toró, ọmọ alé ibe koi ti dagba ni. It means that if the house is peaceful and tranquil, it is only because the bastard there hasn’t grown up.

2. Igberaga ni nsiwaju iparun translates loosely as “Pride goes before fall.”

3. Aja ti o ba ma sọ, ki ngbọ fere Ọlọdẹ. “The dog that will get lost will not hear the hunter’s whistle.”

Will the Zionists learn a lesson before it is too late? As I wrote in the piece “Cry Palestine” (Swans, February 23, 2009), no oppression can last forever.

They say those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. But in the blood-drenched saga of Western imperialism, history is not so much repeated as ritualistically reenacted—this time with more firepower and less shame.

Those who have studied history will know that what we are witnessing in West Asia and Palestine is not merely war. It is not “conflict.” It is the brutal continuation of a 500-year reign of European arrogance, greed, and wanton barbarity. This reign carved up the world with bayonets and bibles and called it Western Civilization.

The only thing we see in the misbegotten settler project called Israel is the grotesque apotheosis of this European imperial sickness with all its sickening abscesses. What has long been masked by media pr is now revealed to the world in its stark barbarity. The West does not look so beautiful, not so attractive any longer. The sickening hypocrisy of the West has caused revulsions among the sponsored liberals. No amount of lipstick can make the pig look appealing.

As I wrote in Cry, Palestine, “Palestinians have never had a day of peace since 1948.” And why would they? Zionism, like the Crusades of old, did not come bearing olive branches. It came brandishing bulldozers, bombs, and Bible verses.

Contrary to what some religious Zombies would want us to believe, the Zionist occupation of Palestine is not some religious inevitability nor a defensive necessity. It is a European colonial fantasy come to life – an ideological Frankenstein monster birthed from the belly of the British Empire and Western Imperialism.

No, we do not condemn the West; Western history is so barbarically revolting that Europeans should bury their heads in shame instead of developing the gall to parade the world and dare give lectures.

Who needs lessons from genocidalists?
For the benefit of those Africans without any knowledge or appreciation of history, let us go back to the source of this poisoned stream: the Balfour Declaration. In 1917, amid World War I—a war ignited by European fascism, greed, avarice, and the madness of monarchs—the British, that infamous peddler of perfidious Albion, signed away land that did not belong to them to people who did not live there.

British Lord Balfour, in his pompous, god-playing audacity, “promised” Palestine to the Zionists with all the entitlement of a thief handing over stolen goods to his cousin.

Let us not forget that this declaration came when the British overlords were simultaneously whispering sweet nothings into the ears of Arab leaders, promising them independence if they rose against the Ottomans. Double-dealing is not a bug of Western diplomacy; it is the entire system. And the Arabs fell for it. They were betrayed, used, and discarded, and the betrayal birthed the apartheid monstrosity called Israel.

The Balfour Declaration was not a peace accord. It was a geopolitical time bomb. It was not about a refuge for persecuted Jews but about a European outpost planted in the heart of Arab civilization to divide, conquer, and control.

As I observed in one of my articles, “The Zionists in Palestine lack the number, the resources, the industrial or manufacturing base to commit their atrocities without the complicity of their Western sponsors., especially the UK and the US.”

Contrary to the mythology created to justify the nauseating abscess, Israel was not created to protect persecuted Jews. Like South Africa, it was a colonial project designed to serve Western interests. It is the plantation fort of the Empire, the spearhead of Western hegemony in the oil-rich lands of West Asia. The Zionist project was always about geopolitics, not theology. The British, and later the Americans, saw in Israel a loyal garrison state surrounded by hostile “natives” who could be kept divided, distracted, and defeated.

The Nakba – the catastrophic expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinians in 1948 – was not an accident. It was the plan. And every massacre since then – Sabra, Shatila, Jenin, Gaza – has been part of the same plan: ethnic cleansing by attrition.

The Zionist occupiers are not interested in peace. They are interested in land. In conquest. In extermination of the indigenous people.

And the West has cheered it on every step of the way. The United States that self-appointed gendarme of “freedom,” has armed Israel to the teeth vetoed every UN resolution condemning its crimes and subsidized its war machine to the tune of billions.

Meanwhile, the so-called “international community” yawns and pontificates as white phosphorus rains on hospitals and refugee camps.

Let us be clear: tiny Israel could not fight all the wars on its own. It lacks the workforce, the industrial base, and the logistical depth. This is why every Israeli war is a Western war by another name. From the bombing of Beirut to the siege of Gaza, from the assassinations in Tehran to the attacks on Damascus, Israel serves as the West’s knife in the heart of West Asia. It fights because America wills it. It kills because Britain shields it. It occupies because fascist Germany bankrolls it in a pathetic, guilt-ridden atonement ritual for its own Holocaust crimes.

But let us not be deceived by the propaganda. The myth of Israeli military invincibility is just that – a myth. The truth is that the Zionist entity is brittle. Its enemies are growing stronger, more coordinated, and more determined. Hezbollah humiliated Israel in 2006. Iran has encircled it with proxies. And Hamas has exposed its intelligence failures again and again. Even with the latest assault on Gaza, the occupation is no closer to “victory” than it was 70 years ago. After three days of fighting, the Zionists ran to Big Brother for help.

While Israel pretends to be mighty, its Western sponsors are looking increasingly feeble. As I have noted repeatedly, the West has foolishly exhausted itself in Ukraine. NATO, once the pride of Western militarism, has shot its bolt in the muddy fields of Donbas. It has no ammunition left. No workforce. No capacity to mass-produce weapons. Germany, the so-called economic powerhouse of Europe, is now de-industrialized and demoralized. Britain – well, what can one say about that stale, decaying Isle of Iniquities? A nation that fancies itself as Great but whose army can barely fill a football stadium.

If war were to break out on multiple fronts, the West would lose. Catastrophically. As I warned: “The forces arraigned against the West are too overwhelming to make any talk of the West igniting another World War nonsensical. NATO has foolishly exhausted itself by the insane proxy war in Ukraine. It has no ammunition left and lacks the manpower and industrial capacity to wage what would make WWII look like a birthday skirmish.”

The comparison of the current global military forces does not favor the West. “One or two Sarmat will sink Great Britain. One or two Oreshnik will forever put paid to fascism in Germany. Going by their pathetic fighting history, the French will easily fold and wave the white flag of surrender.”

We must never forget how Italy, even after dropping chemical weapons on Ethiopia, was still routed at Adwa. History has a wicked sense of irony. And the gods of revenge never sleep.

And now, in its imperial hubris, the West is dragging Israel into a confrontation with Iran. In its arrogance, it believes it can control the outcome. But this is not 1953 when the CIA could topple Mossadegh and install the Shah. This is not 1980 when Saddam could be used as a blunt instrument against revolutionary Iran. This is 2025—and the ground has shifted. Iran is no longer isolated. It is the linchpin of an emerging anti-Western axis stretching from Moscow to Beijing, Pyongyang to Caracas.

Israel’s attacks on Iranian soil—its sabotage, its assassinations, its threats—have pushed the Islamic Republic to the brink. As Iran strikes back, the West will scream “terrorism,” as it always does when the victims of imperialism dare to fight back. But the Iranians promised in their Operation True Promise III is not terrorism; it’s a reckoning.

Iran has shown its hand. Its missiles bypass THAAD and Patriot air defenses like hot knives through butter. Armed to the teeth and itching for relevance, North Korea will not sit idle. With its massive population and nuclear arsenal, Pakistan is unlikely to remain neutral. And Russia—ah, Mother Russia!—will not miss the opportunity to exact a century’s revenge.

The West has miscalculated—again. It has mistaken the weakness of its enemies for compliance, confused strategic patience with cowardice, and grossly overestimated its strength. By launching this war through its colonial garrison in Tel Aviv, the West may have committed the ultimate strategic blunder—one that could accelerate its imperial demise.

Let us not forget the moral dimension. The West loves to preach about “values.” Democracy. Human rights. The rule of law. International Law. But its silence on Palestine exposes the lie. When brown children are bombed in their beds, when hospitals are turned to rubble, when journalists are targeted and killed, the West has nothing to say. No “rules-based order.” No “international norms.” Only silence. Or worse, approval.

It’s as though Palestinian lives are so cheap they don’t count. With Western approval, the Zionists, with impunity, continue to turn Gaza into a graveyard for the living.”

What kind of civilization is this? A society that arms the oppressor and blames the oppressed. A civilization that mourns Israeli dogs and ignores Palestinian babies. A civilization that uses genocide as foreign policy.

Long dead Diplomacy!
This is not civilization. It is barbarism wrapped in bureaucracy.

But the world is changing. The old rules no longer apply. BRICS is rising. The Global South is awakening. The masks have fallen. Even ordinary people in the West—conscience-stricken and horrified—are taking to the streets to denounce their governments’ complicity. They are burning flags not out of hatred but out of shame.

The days of Western impunity are ending. The wars of plunder, the coups, the color revolutions, the IMF noose—these tactics are losing their bite. The victims of the Empire are organizing. The boomerang of history is returning to its sender.

Let me end with this grim prophecy: By using Israel to attack Iran, the West may have lit a fuse it cannot put out. The West, already exhausted from Ukraine, broke from within by inequality, racial strife, and moral rot, is not ready for the firestorm that will follow.

And unlike past wars, this one will not stay “over there.” One or two Sarmat, one or two Oreshnik—and the West itself will become the battlefield.

As it is written in the blood of history, empires fall not when conquered from without but when they implode from within.

The West is not just fighting Iran. It is fighting time, truth, and the tides of history.

And this time, history will not be merciful.
