The Birth of a Visionary Movement
The Apostles Revelation Society (ARS) emerged in 1939, birthed from the profound spiritual convictions of Prophet Charles Kwabla Nutornuti Wovenu in Tadzewu, Volta Region, Ghana. From its inception, the ARS was unlike conventional Christian denominations—it was an African-centered spiritual movement, interweaving Christian doctrine with the ancestral wisdom and sacred traditions of the Ewe people. Wovenu envisioned a faith that did not erase indigenous identity but embraced it, channeling Africa’s spiritual heritage into a new Christian awakening.
At its core, the ARS was founded on divine revelation, prophetic insight, healing, and communal worship, rejecting foreign theological rigidity in favor of a faith deeply attuned to Africa’s soul. It resonated with multitudes, offering not just salvation but restoration of cultural dignity and spiritual power.
Prophet C.K.N. Wovenu: The Guiding Light of the ARS
Born into an era where Christianity was largely framed by colonial institutions, Wovenu was destined to challenge the status quo. He sought a faith that did not isolate Africa’s rich spiritual consciousness but instead harmonized the sacred wisdom of the ancestors with the message of Christ.
Under his leadership, the ARS flourished, drawing thousands into its fold. He was not merely a preacher but a visionary leader, healer, and prophet, revered for his ability to foresee national events, interpret divine mysteries, and deliver spiritual liberation. His influence went beyond the pulpit—he was known for accurate prophecies regarding political upheavals, most notably forewarning the 1966 overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah.
The ARS under Wovenu was a movement of transformation, turning faith into action, instilling discipline, and shaping leaders who would carry forward the vision of African spiritual enlightenment.
A Fractured Legacy: The Painful Division
When Wovenu departed from the physical realm, the ARS faced its greatest trial—not from external forces, but from within. With his voice of unity silenced, leadership disputes, doctrinal disagreements, and internal struggles led to a heartbreaking division, splitting the ARS into two factions.
Each side sought to preserve his legacy but interpreted his teachings in different ways, leading to a separation that weakened the collective strength of the church. Instead of building upon Wovenu’s unifying mission, the rift created barriers that hindered the full spiritual potential of the ARS.
The Call to Reunification: Healing the Wound of Division
The essence of ARS was unity—a sacred brotherhood rooted in divine truth. This division weakens the very foundation that Wovenu laid, diminishing the impact of the ARS not just in Ghana but across the continent.
It is time for the leadership of both factions to lay down their disputes, transcend personal ambitions, and reunite. The ARS was never meant to be fragmented; its destiny is greatness, a movement beyond individual differences.
Let this be a moment of reflection and reconciliation—a sacred call to return to the original vision, where ARS stands as one force, uplifting not only its followers but the entire spiritual consciousness of Ghana and Africa. Let healing take precedence over division. Let the ARS rise again as the beacon it was meant to be.
May the wisdom of the ancestors and the light of divine revelation guide all leaders back to unity, for in unity, the Apostles Revelation Society shall ascend beyond all churches and fulfill its divine mission.
Wisdom from Achebe, ABA Fuseini, and Scripture*
Chinua Achebe: “A man who calls his kinsmen to a feast does them from starving. They all have food in their own homes. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so.” ABA Fuseini: “When a handshake reaches the elbow, it is no longer greetings, it is a defeat.” Biblical Wisdom: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1
Let this be the guiding light for ARS—a call to unity, reconciliation, and spiritual elevation.
