Enhancing the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill: A Response to Rev. Ntim Fordjours Remarks

Dear Rev. Ntim Fordjour,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing in response to your recent remarks regarding President John Dramani Mahama’s stance on the anti-LGBTQ+ bill. While I understand your concerns, it is important to consider the broader context and potential benefits of President Mahama’s approach.

Firstly, it is essential to recognize that bills are often considered dead or mute when a new government comes into power. This means that any unfinished business from the previous administration must be reintroduced and reconsidered by the new government. President Mahama’s decision to reintroduce the Proper Family Values Bill as a government-sponsored bill may be an attempt to enhance and strengthen the overall legislation, ensuring that it aligns with the current administration’s priorities and values.

By taking this approach, President Mahama is demonstrating a commitment to addressing the concerns of the Ghanaian people while also ensuring that the bill is comprehensive and effective. This move allows for a thorough review and potential improvement of the bill, ultimately benefiting the nation as a whole.

Furthermore, it is crucial to engage in open and respectful dialogue on this issue. By fostering a collaborative environment, we can work together to find solutions that align with the values and beliefs of the majority of Ghanaians while respecting the rights of all individuals. This approach will help to create a more inclusive and harmonious society.

In conclusion, President Mahama’s decision to reintroduce the Proper Family Values Bill as a government-sponsored bill should be seen as an opportunity to enhance and strengthen the legislation. By working together and engaging in constructive dialogue, we can ensure that the bill effectively addresses the concerns of the Ghanaian people and promotes the well-being of our nation.

Sincerely,
Retired Senior Citizen
Teshie-Nungua
