The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has assured Ghanaians that the 2025 budget statement will restore hope and provide relief to the citizenry.
According to him, the budget, which will be presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will create prosperity for all, not just a privileged few.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, March 11, ahead of the budget presentation, Gyamfi said the government is committed to fulfilling its campaign promises by addressing economic hardships and creating jobs.
“And I’m very optimistic that by the time the Finance Minister is done reading this budget, many Ghanaians will find hope in his words because we are going to have a budget that responds to our needs and aspirations as a people.
“A budget that will ease hardships, a budget that will create jobs, a budget that will create prosperity for all, and a budget that will respect the social contract that we in the NDC have with the good people of this country.
“I have no doubt in my mind that the promises we made at the polls will be implemented by this government, starting with today’s reading of our first budget,” he said.
Sammy Gyamfi further stated that the promises made by the NDC during the 2024 election campaign were well thought out and are feasible.
He dismissed concerns about the party’s ability to implement its pledges, emphasizing that their governance will provide renewed hope for Ghanaians.
“We were very clear in our minds about the promises we made to the people of this country in the run-up to the 2024 polls. Our promises were carefully considered, and we knew from the outset that the policies we proposed were pragmatic and implementable.
“We are not going to have any difficulties keeping faith with the people of this country. Aban Papa Aba—the change we voted for is here. The hope the people of this country need is here,” he declared.
