The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been summoned before the party’s disciplinary committee.
This comes after he allegedly flouted a directive from the party’s National Executive Council, which ordered him to refrain from making unguarded public comments.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 24, the party said the move followed a resolution taken at a National Steering Committee meeting held in Accra.
“…Refers the Bono Regional Chairman, Mr. Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye, to the Party’s National Disciplinary Committee for breaching directives of the National Council cautioning him to refrain from making unguarded public comments,” the statement said.
The party has also invited all individuals who have declared their intentions to contest in the upcoming NPP presidential primary to a joint meeting with the Steering Committee and the National Council of Elders.
“The meeting, which is expected to discuss matters of mutual interest, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025,” said the statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.
It further directed “the immediate cessation of all caucuses or associations of present and former party executives/government appointees holding meetings with presidential aspirants in breach of party regulations.”
The party reminded its members of their constitutional duty to uphold party unity, support its decisions, and avoid actions that undermine cohesion.
