The Akosombo International School Old Students Association (AISOSA), Class of 2004, has commemorated 20 years since graduation with a generous donation of 500 chairs to their alma mater.

The initiative aims to improve comfort and enhance the learning experience for the growing student population.

The donation ceremony, held over the weekend at Akosombo International School (AIS), brought together alumni, friends, and family to celebrate the milestone and give back to the institution that shaped their lives.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the chairs, made possible through innovative fundraising by the 2004-year group.

Genevieve Partington, President of AISOSA 2004, reflected on the significance of the contribution.

“It feels like just yesterday we walked these halls, dreaming of the future. This isn’t just a donation; it’s an investment in AIS and the students who will follow in our footsteps.

“We’re already brainstorming something even bigger for our 25th anniversary in 2029,” she said.

Receiving the donation, Sarah Adei, Headmistress of AIS and an alumna herself, expressed gratitude for the support.

“This invaluable gift from the Class of 2004 will significantly enhance student comfort during assemblies, events, and exams. We deeply appreciate your foresight and dedication to improving our school,” she noted.

John Adabie, Vice President of the national AISOSA alumni body, commended the initiative and encouraged other year groups to contribute to the school’s development.

More than 30 members of the 2004-year group attended the event, engaging with current students and sharing personal experiences and words of encouragement.

AISOSA 2004 remains committed to supporting AIS and looks forward to launching more impactful projects ahead of its 25th-anniversary celebration in 2029.
