Amenfi Central MP, Joana Gyan Cudjoe
The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has revealed that her constituency is the poorest in the Western Region—a revelation she described as alarming and unacceptable.
Speaking to journalists after assessing the deplorable state of infrastructure and living conditions in the area, Cudjoe called on government agencies, development partners, and all relevant stakeholders to urgently support efforts aimed at transforming the constituency.
She expressed deep concern over the extent of poverty in Amenfi Central and stressed the need for a united front to tackle the pressing challenges confronting the community.
Despite the enormity of the task ahead, the MP reaffirmed her commitment to leading the charge for positive change. Her development agenda focuses on improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, rural electrification, sanitation, telecommunication networks, and tackling youth unemployment.
She emphasised that improving road networks and rural telephony is essential to unlocking the constituency’s economic potential. She noted that access to electricity and quality infrastructure will enhance productivity and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
In education and healthcare, she plans to upgrade existing facilities, supply essential materials, support teachers, and improve access to health services through new facilities and medical equipment.
On job creation, the MP is targeting youth unemployment with initiatives that support entrepreneurship, vocational training, and small business development. She believes empowering the youth is key to long-term economic growth and community sustainability.
