Nene Asafoatse Annor Dosu III is the new Asafoatse of Saisi
The newly-outdoored Asafoatse of Saisi in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area of the Eastern Region has charged the youth of the area to prioritise education if they must become successful in life.
Nene Asafoatse Annor Dosu III, who was speaking at a durbar at Saisi on Friday, March 21, 2025, to climax his installation and outdooring ceremony as Asafoatse of Saisi, implored the youth to give top priority to their education by striving to pursue it to the highest levels to enable Saisi to also boast of professionals if called upon to do so.
“Education doesn’t end at the JHS level, the girls can proceed to the nursing or teacher training colleges so that Saisi can also boast of teachers and nurses,” he admonished.
He made the call following a massive colourful durbar at Saisi to thank God for a successful outdooring.
He also charged young persons to always revere and demonstrate humility towards the elderly.
According to Nene Dosu, the community can only get the necessary development if its members stand together.
Various Sipims and Dadematseme took turns to swear the oath of allegiance to the outdoored traditional leader.
The new Asafoatse, also swearing his oath of allegiance to the chiefs and people of Saisi and Manya Krobo as a whole, pledged his commitment to serve the people with diligence and in truth.
He called on indigenes of Saisi both home and abroad to come on board and contribute their quota towards the development of the community.
Nene Annor Dosu III also strongly challenged the youth to be disciplined and law-abiding to enable them achieve their aspirations in becoming better people in society and urged community members to live in peace and harmony.
Describing his enstoolment as a celebration of their unity, heritage, and commitment to a brighter future of Saisi, he expressed his gratitude to the elders who held Saisi together in peace and harmony despite the void created by his predecessor, Nene Apo.
Underscoring essence of leadership, he said, “Leadership is not about a title or privilege; it is about service. It is about listening to the voices of our people, understanding their needs, and working tirelessly to uplift our community.”
He underscored the need for unity, stressing that it will take the strength and cooperation of all and sundry to ensure development.
“Let us join hands to foster unity, to build opportunities for our youth, to protect and nurture our land, and to ensure that peace reigns in our homes and hearts to ensure the continuous development of Saisi,” he noted.
He called on them to lend their support, talents, and skills in developing the Saisi community and propel it to greater heights.
John Atter Matey, the Lower Manya Krobo NDC Constituency chairman who represented the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, pledged the support of the NDC to ensure the success of the chief.
He expressed the commitment of the party to avail itself towards supporting the chief’s vision for the people.
Outdooring Ceremonies
The colourful ceremony featured traditional dances, cultural displays, and customs showcasing the rich heritage of the Krobo people.
Kingmakers and Customary Rites
The ceremony began early at 6 a.m. with customary rites performed amidst traditional drumming, singing, and dancing with a grand durbar culminating at the local durbar where he swore the oath of allegiance to Nene Asada Ahor, Chief of Akuse who represented the Paramount Chief of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area and other traditional leaders.
Nene Asafoatse Annor Dosu III known in private life as Thomas Thompson Annor Dosu is a Business Development Manager at Voltech Product and Service Ghana Ltd.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Energy and Sustainable Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from GIMPA and an HND in electrical engineering from the Accra Technical University.
