A flyer for the event features Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II (L) and King Mswati III
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is holding a durbar of chiefs in honour of the ruler of Eswatini, King Mswati III, at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
All the paramount chiefs, paramount queen mothers, and other sub-chiefs of Asanteman, as well as the Asantehene himself, are expected to grace the grand durbar.
The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is also expected to grace the occasion.
The durbar is the only activity for the third day of the four-day visit of King Mswati III to Ghana and Asanteman.
The second day of the visit, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, saw the much-anticipated encounter between two of Africa’s most revered kings, the ruler of Eswatini, King Mswati III, and the king of Asanteman, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Before meeting the Asantehene, King Mswati III addressed Ghana’s National House of Chiefs, praised the chiefs for their contribution to Ghana’s development, and called for greater collaboration with his kingdom.
After addressing the National House of Chiefs, the ruler of Eswatini and his entourage were treated to a tour of the Manhyia Palace Museum, where he was educated on the rich history of the Asante Kingdom.
On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama received the King of Eswatini at the Jubilee House.
