AUCB Alumni President rallies members for unity ahead of “Meet & Greet 2025” on July 1

The Alumni Association of the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) is gearing up for its highly anticipated “AUCB Alumni Meet & Greet 2025”, scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, at the university’s Adabraka campus.

Ahead of the event, Alumni President David D. Olaga, Esq.—a respected broadcast journalist and Co-Managing Partner at the Law Office of Kwainoe—has called on all former students to unite and strengthen their shared legacy.

“A united alumni is a powerful force,” Olaga said in a passionate pre-event statement.

“It’s not just about nostalgia—it’s about leveraging our shared identity to open career doors, spark business collaborations, and strengthen our individual and collective futures. This is not just a social event. It’s an investment in lifelong relationships.”

He stressed that the event is designed to foster deep connections among graduates from all years and walks of life.

“We want everyone to leave feeling energized, connected, and proud to be part of the AUCB legacy. We are creating a space where past students can reconnect meaningfully, whether you graduated 15 years ago or just last year,” he added.

Highlighting the vast potential of networking at the event, Olaga encouraged alumni to tap into the resources and opportunities available.

“From job opportunities to mentorship, the benefits of showing up are indeed going to be enormous.”

Reflecting on the university’s evolution, he noted the transformation AUCB has undergone since gaining a Presidential Charter in December 2024, officially becoming an autonomous, full-fledged university.

“AUCB in the past, was nurtured through affiliates and partnerships with some other universities but eversince its elevation through a Presidential Charter in December 2024, it has now become an autonomous university.

“… As a result of this great achievement, it has put us in a different limelight. We are now a full fledged university. It has therefore become critical that we accept the need to come together and then push for the new agenda.

“As its status stands as a new identity, the Alumni becomes one of the key stakeholders to push the new agenda.

“…As Alumnus or Alumni community, you cannot successfully tell your story without the mention of AUCC as a former school so the time has come for us to pay back by putting our individual differences aside and come aboard at a time when we have a new Chancellor.”

The association is calling on all AUCB alumni—from every program and graduating class—to attend the event and take part in rekindling old bonds while forging new ones.

Special highlights of the evening include appearances by two eminent personalities: AUCB Founder Hon. Kojo Yankah, who will serve as Special Guest, and Mr. Frank Adu, the university’s new Chancellor and former Managing Director of CAL Bank, who will be the Guest of Honour.

In addition to networking opportunities, the gathering will feature fun and engaging activities, including the much-anticipated “Defend Your Year Group” contest—a friendly inter-year competition featuring quizzes, mini-games, and light-hearted showdowns to promote camaraderie and laughter.

The event starts at 5:00 PM on July 1, 2025, at the AUCB campus in Adabraka. Alumni are encouraged to come in their numbers, celebrate their shared identity, and help shape the future of their alma mater.
