The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has condemned the illegal importation of dangerous opioids into the country and is calling for stricter regulatory enforcement. In a statement issued on 24th February 2025, PSGH referenced recent media investigations, including a BBC Africa Eye documentary, which exposed the smuggling of unapproved opioids into Ghana and other West African countries.
