Introduction“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” — Lord Acton.Throughout history, leaders in financial institutions, corporations, and political arenas have risen to great heights, wielding influence and commanding authority. Yet, one undeniable truth persists—power and position are fleeting. The boardrooms of global banks, the offices of CEOs, and the corridors of government institutions are all temporary stages where individuals play their roles before time moves them aside. From the towering heights of Wall Street to the executive floors of multinational corporations, history has repeatedly shown that no title is permanent. As Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor and Stoic philosopher,…

Ghana, a four-time African champion and one of the few African nations to have reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup, has experienced a decline in its football supremacy. In 2009, the country’s under-20 team, led by Andre Ayew, won the Youth Under-20 World Cup on African soil, becoming the only African nation to have won the prestigious trophy. However, in the last four decades, Ghana has failed to win the African Cup of Nations, despite reaching the finals in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2015. The country’s poor performance in Egypt in 2019 marked the beginning of a decline…

Am I hearing well and rightly that President Mahama described Ghana rhetorically as an “economic crime scene” before 7 January 2025 that has to be reset? I am more interested in knowing what President Mahama in opposition and his minority in Parliament did concretely for Ghanaians during the interregnum when the economy was being turned into an economic crime scene with Parliament approving the yearly budget and economic policy statement along the yearly appropriations before January 2025.President John Agyekum Kufour sent Ghana to HIPC using this same empty “economiccrime” scene rhetoric as his smokescreen upon his assumption of power on…
