The Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) latest Quarterly Collateral Registry has revealed that the share of the value of secured loans granted by domestically-owned banks increased to 48.5 percent in the fourth quarter(Q4) of 2024 from 25.4 percent in fourth quarter, 2023. Detained Ugandan opposition politician Kizza Besigye, on hunger strike for a week, has been returned to prison after being in a clinic overnight, his allies have said.
