Were he well-bonded to the truth and the factual reality of history, the diarrheal-mouthed proprietor of the Oman Communications Network and other entrepreneurial ventures in the country would have had absolutely no problem at all, whatsoever, in acknowledging that, in fact, there had been a widespread, albeit very divisive, talk among the vanguard operatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) about having a widely anticipated failed Candidate Adu-Boahen afforded a second, highly likely to fail, once again, shot at the Presidency, even well after the internationally renowned historian and Retired Head of the History Department at the country’s oldest and…
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is sounding the alarm over the inadequate penalties for establishing unauthorised fuel stations, pushing for a legislative review to introduce significantly stiffer fines. The authority contends that the current fines, pegged at less than GH₵ 20,000, fail to deter illegal operations, posing grave risks to public safety. Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, voiced the urgent need for more stringent measures during a recent engagement with Parliament’s Energy Committee. He highlighted the escalating proliferation of unlicensed fuel outlets, some of which have been directly linked to fatal explosions. “If the penalties are…
The next presidential election in Ghana is slated for December 7, 2028. That is roughly three and a half years away. It allows Ghana’s two main political parties – the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ample time to select their flag bearers for the race. Each party faces a different kind of political calculus. For the NDC, President John Mahama is term limited which means the party needs a new candidate capable of leading them into victory and extending their term in office for another four years. In that way, the traditional eight years for…

A federal judge has ordered Columbia University graduate and activist Mahmoud Khalil to be released on bail, more than three months after he was detained. Mr Khalil became a symbol of the Trump administration’s crackdown on universities and foreign students when US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him in New York on March 8. Mr Khalil was a prominent voice in Columbia’s pro-Palestinian protests last year, and his arrest sparked demonstrations in New York and Washington DC. US District Judge Michael Farbiarz determined Mr Khalil was not a flight risk or threat to his community, and could be released…
Ghana’s poverty and hardship are not the will of God—they are the result of leadership failure. When politics becomes a path to personal wealth instead of public service, the soul of the nation suffers. True leadership is not about accumulation—it’s about transformation. My vision for Ghana is grounded in eight pillars of national revival: leaders should care for the people not necessarily self because they are paid. Contentment should be an attitude to be lived by leaders in Ghana.End Corruption with Accountability. Corruption is the cancer choking progress. Too many enter politics to enrich themselves—not serve. Ghana needs stronger laws, firm…
