Barcelona manager Hansi Flick says his team “will be back” after their agonizing Champions League exit to Inter Milan, hinting at a stronger comeback next season.
Flick expressed pride in his team’s efforts despite their dramatic Champions League semi-final defeat to Inter Milan. The Italians won the tie 7-6 on aggregate after two thrilling matches, dashing Barca’s hopes of a quadruple in Flick’s inaugural season.
“We will be back next season,” Flick said, reflecting on the defeat. “I’m proud of my team, I’m proud of your team, we gave everything, and sometimes it’s like that. We have to accept it, and we start again next season. To win the Champions League, this is one of our goals…”

The German tactician’s experience with Bayern Munich, where he achieved a historic sextuple, will undoubtedly influence his approach with Barca next season.
The Catalan giants now shifts focus to La Liga, where they lead bitter rivals Real Madrid by four points. Barca will face their arch-rivals on Sunday at the Munjua Stadium, seeking to extend their lead at the summit to seven points.
“And of course, La Liga, it will be also a tough match on Sunday but we also give everything,” Flick added. “When they (the players) look in the mirror when they arrive at home at three or four o’clock in the night, or in the morning, I think they can be very proud.”
Under Flick Barca have already secured the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey, beating Real Madrid in both finals in his first season with the La Liga giants.
With just four games left to conclude the current campaign, the 2023 La Liga champions would aim to complete a domestic treble by getting the better of their arch-rivals once again.
