Bishop Herman College in Kpando is set to receive a major facelift with the construction of an ultramodern entrance gate.
The project was officially launched on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, during a sod-cutting ceremony held at the school’s premises.
The event drew dignitaries and stakeholders from various sectors, including Dr. Eusebius Gbordzoe, Project Manager of BHOBU Northern America; Hon. Killian Donkor, Municipal Chief Executive of Kpando; Mr. Kudolo Francis, Headmaster of the School and Mr. Anthony Agblevor, CEO of MAGTONA LTD.
The project is fully sponsored by the Northern America chapter of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU). Dr. Gbordzoe explained that the decision to sponsor the entrance gate project was prompted by concerns over the school’s current appearance, which does not reflect its prestigious status in Ghana’s educational landscape.
Dr. Gbordzoe highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in all developmental efforts, assuring stakeholders of continued support with future projects. He encouraged students to strive for excellence and envision a future where they would give back to their alma mater.
The Headmaster, Mr. Francis Kudolo, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the old boys for the long-awaited intervention. He called on other alumni and philanthropic groups to follow suit in addressing the school’s developmental needs.
Mr. Anthony Agblevor of MAGTONA LTD announced that work will commence on June 1, 2025, with completion expected by the end of September.
Hon. Killian Donkor lauded the initiative and assured the school of continued government support. He urged students to take inspiration from the gesture and excel academically.
Bishop Herman College, established as the first Roman Catholic boys’ school in the Volta Region, has produced distinguished personalities in service to both God and Ghana. The school hopes this project marks the beginning of broader infrastructural improvements to match its longstanding reputation.
