Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has assured President John Mahama that Ghana will turn things around in their crucial World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.
During a surprise visit to the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, Mahama encouraged the players ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Following a disappointing 2024 campaign that saw Ghana miss out on AFCON qualification, Ayew acknowledged the challenges but remained confident in the team’s ability to deliver.
“It’s a big sign that you’re here supporting us. We know we’re in a tough situation, but we’re not afraid. We will turn things around on Friday, so you can relax. We’ll do the job for the nation,” Ayew assured.
Mahama also emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and unity, reminding the players that success in football and beyond depends on these values.
Ghana will take on Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24 as they aim to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
