The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria should reject any plan to impose a state of emergency in Benue State. The plot to impose state of emergency have intensified following the massacte of over 300 in Yelwata on the 13th of June, 2025
The plot to encourage the Fulani herders to overrun Benue State is politically motivated.
Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Alia has exposed corruption in high places of Benue State by paying backlog of salaries, pension’s arrears and instituting good governance with micro management of resource, that he has to be brought down at all costs.
The Fulani bandits’ attack in Benue State with the tacit incompetent reaction from security authorities is a ploy to remove Ref Fr Alia through a State of Emergency.
Instead of State of Emergency, the security commanders in Benue State should be redeployed.
The Military Authorities have confirmed that Insiders Provided Intelligence the Fulani bandits used for proper Mapping and Execution of innocent citizens in the case of Yelwata massacre
The Question is who are those insiders? Is it Rev Fr Alia or disgruntled Benue Politicians.?
We also know that politicians sponsored those who hijacked train bound for Kaduna in March 2022, to force President Buhari to exit his consensus presidency option. We warned Buhari in several publications, including the piece, ‘Kaduna Train Terrorists Working for APC Politicians” and advised him to allow a free APC Primary Election, to avoid the massacre of the kidnapped train victims. The beneficiary of that primary is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
We know that politicians sponsored Boko Haram to weaken the government of Goodluck Jonathan. The former President alluded to it during the January 2012 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in Abuja and expressed fears that the sponsors of Boko Haram are in the Federal Executive Council.

We know that the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Michika, Adamawa State, Lawan Indimi was brutally murdered in January, 2020, after abduction, and when the Federal Government mobilized about N 50 million as ransom, because some politicians gave the assailants more money. We have it on record that whenever the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is about to get political reprieve, some IPOB group commits heinous murder, and the Sponsors of political solution backs out. This includes disgruntled groups, legal team and politicians.
In January 2023, I informed top Ohanaeze and Igbo leadership in Abuja that the plot to release Nnamdi Kanu through diplomatic means have reached advanced stage, and detailed those Aso Rock said we should meet for further action.
We were shocked by their verdict, that ‘Kanu’s release will hinder Peter Obi presidency’ We were advised to stop forthwith. In order not to be accused of stalling a Peter Obi Presidency, we backed out of the agreement.
On another occasion, we got the intelligence that Justice Nyako will grant Nnamdi Kanu bail the next court sitting. On Sunday preceding the court sitting, IPOB gunmen under the command of one of those feeding fat from Kanu’s detention, asked his boys in Anambra State to kill a pregnant woman on the 23rd May, 2022, with her four kids in Orumba Local Government.. Justice Nyako, from same Adamawa as the slain pregnant woman, refused to appear in court, feigning sickness, while telling her colleagues that they killed her sister sojourning in Igboland. The bail frittered away like that.
On another occasion, they burnt down the local government headquarters, killed about five locals, on a Saturday, knowing that the legal team had embarked on aother aggressive attempt to forestall the next sitting for a fresh bail application. and the DSS capitalized on it to advise against any release of Nnamdi Kanu.
These murderous business elements are still embedded within the IPOB family till today, despite propagandist denials.
Therefore, our warnings are not social media content creation. It is Intelligence based and once Rev Fr Alia is removed, the foreign bandits will demand for appeasement, which include land grab, increased kidnapping for bouunty service, and incursion into neighboring Igbo districts especially Nsukka zones.
Rev Fr Alia, though suspended by the Local Ordinary, Bishop Wilfred Anagbe , for abandoning the Canon Law for politics, should not be abandoned by ts own to the evil machinations of bloodthirsty politicians.
Those paying Fulani bandits to overrun Benue State for political expediency cannot help the Benue people.
The Catholic Bishops Conference should stand behind Ref Fr Alia.
Those priests being lobbied to blackmail a fellow priest should understand that ‘ a fowl that mocks the slaughter of the guinea fowl is not aware that the same fate that befell the guinea fowl will be visited on it someday’
The monumental security incompetence in Benue State cannot be heaped on the head of Ref Fr Alia. A situation whereby over 200persons were slaughtered on the night of 13 th of June,in addition to over 500 slaughtered since January ,2025, and no theatre commander has been fired , us baffling.
That was how Southern Kaduna residents were murdered for eight years without any succor in sight, until the Tinubu appointed Defense Chief, CG Musa, gave a marching order. Today peace has returned to Southern Kaduna.
We therefore, openly notify our foreign partners who have asked our independent views on the Benue Massacre, which disgruntled politicians, local herders on land grab mission and murderous foreign bandits of Fulani extraction ate responsible for the carnage in Benue State.
Instead of an evil plot of removing the governor, let the military, police and secret service commanders in the affected areas be queried and sanctioned for lame response to intelligence.
Rev Obinna Akukwe warns those seeking the downfall of Rev Fr Alia, blackmailing him and Benue people before President Tinubu, that the precedence they want to set is capable of igniting bloody war.
Let the Military, Police, Paramilitary do their job in Benue State.
That plan to impose a state of emergency should stop. Let the Catholic Bishops and priests not succumb to such shenenegian manipulators, and let Benue people defend themselves.
