Ghanaian businessmen who are into Cement purchases and sales have expressed greater worry and concerns at the rate at which shortage of cement has hit the entire country.
The situation makes it difficult for users of cement for building and construction purposes to access the purchase of cement.
Businessmen who buy the cement on larger quantities to supply to both retailers at their shops and to those into construction purposes do not get access to the product.
According to the businessmen the prices of cement has shot up so high under President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government five months in office.
They also hinted that apart from the high price imposed on cement by the Mahama led NDC administration, trucks have stalled at most cement manufacturing companies which they find it difficult to get the cement to supply to individuals and retailers for selling.
By this, the cement business dealers are appealing to President John Mahama through the minister for Trade, Industry and Agribusiness to as matter of urgency find an antidote to the situation because it is gradually collapsibg the cement businesses in the country.
Speaking to Enoch Nyarko, 2024 NPP parliamentary candidate for Jaman north, a businessman and Cement dealer, he also complained bitterly about the situation and called for urgent steps to salvage the situation.
