Cheddar’s bodyguard to face sanctions over fan assault — New Force

The New Force political movement has condemned an incident involving its 2024 presidential candidate, Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Cheddar.

The incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, shows a bodyguard of Cheddar allegedly assaulting a fan who attempted to get close to the candidate.

In a statement released on Saturday, June 7 — the same day the incident occurred — the New Force apologised to the victim and his family.

The statement, signed by Charles Yomekpe, the movement’s General Secretary, described the incident as unacceptable and unjustified, particularly because the individual was unarmed.

“Let it be made unequivocally clear that our movement strongly condemns this behavior. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and entirely out of line with the values we hold.

“We have launched an immediate investigation into the incident, and we assure the public that the perpetrator will be held fully accountable under the law and internal disciplinary processes. We are committed to restoring public confidence by ensuring that such behavior is never repeated,” the statement said.
