Dr Stephen Amoah is Nhyiaeso lawmaker and lead campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong
NPP Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and a lead campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Stephen Amoah has caused a stir with his religious inflammatory comments as he campaigns for his candidate.
Speaking at an engagement with the students’ wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Kumasi, Dr Stephen Amoah, popularly called “Sticka”, stunned the audience as he made some anti-Muslim comments, telling the gathering that Christians in Ghana won’t vote for a Muslim leader.
The lead campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong, former Assin Central MP and a presidential hopeful of the NPP for the 2028 elections, remarked; “Whether we like it or not, Christians hardly want to vote for a Muslim leader. It is a fact.”
“We all know—why are we lying to ourselves?” he queried.
“Acknowledge yourself and your problem but we can find solutions to them, rather than saying [they don’t exist],” he concluded.
Many Ghanaians have expressed utter disappointment in Dr Amoah, describing his comments as “discriminatory and disrespectful”.
