In a strategic move to deepen collaboration and stimulate economic growth, Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), recently paid a visit to OFI Food Ingredients (OFI), a leading manufacturer and exporter of cocoa paste and one of CMC’s key clients.

The visit included an extensive tour of OFI’s modern factory and warehouse in Kumasi, setting the stage for fruitful discussions between the leadership teams of both organizations.

During the visit, Dr. Dogbey emphasized the critical importance of strengthening the partnership between CMC and OFI, underscoring their shared commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability in cocoa production.

“As two major players in the cocoa sector, we have a unique opportunity to collaborate—not only to expand our businesses but also to make a positive impact on Ghana’s economy,” he stated. He further highlighted the need to explore innovative and effective ways to enhance cooperation and build a more resilient cocoa supply chain.

Key discussion points focused on joint initiatives aimed at improving product quality and leveraging technological advancements to boost operational efficiency. Dr. Dogbey also praised OFI’s dedication to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, noting the strong alignment of values between the two companies. “We are committed to sourcing our cocoa beans responsibly and supporting our farmers in their efforts,” he remarked during the facility tour.

The visit also allowed both leadership teams to exchange valuable insights on global market trends and evolving consumer preferences, emphasizing the need to adapt proactively to maintain competitiveness. Stressing the role of innovation, Dr. Dogbey said, “In today’s fast-changing environment, continuous innovation is essential to enhancing our products and services and securing our position on the world stage.”

OFI’s leadership warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about the prospects of a closer partnership. An OFI representative noted, “We highly value our relationship with CMC and recognize the crucial role Ghana’s cocoa producers play in our supply chain. Together, we can drive sustainable growth and generate lasting positive impacts in the communities we serve.”

As the visit concluded, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship centered on sustainability, innovation, and mutual growth. Dr. Dogbey left OFI’s facility with renewed optimism about the future of Ghana’s cocoa industry, confident that strong partnerships and shared goals will enable both companies to thrive while contributing significantly to national economic development.

This engagement marks a pivotal step toward enhancing Ghana’s cocoa supply chain and positioning the country as a global leader in sustainable cocoa production. With CMC’s ongoing efforts to build strategic alliances with key stakeholders, the vision of a prosperous and resilient cocoa industry is increasingly becoming a reality.
