The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has tasked a group of lawyers with the review of key legislation in the sector, aimed at aligning Ghana’s laws with emerging trends and technologies.
This initiative, he said, is crucial for promoting innovation and growth within the digital economy.
The lawyers have been given a two-week period to present a zero draft of the reviewed legislation for the Minister’s consideration.
Mr George noted that this draft will serve as a foundation for further stakeholder engagement and refinement, ultimately leading to the development of comprehensive and effective laws that support Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
He emphasized, “The initiative is committed to creating an enabling environment for the ICT sector to thrive.”
