Cynthia Morrison breaks silence on allegations that Ken Agyapong funded her independent campaign

Former Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency in the Central Region, Cynthia Morrison, has refuted allegations that former presidential aspirant on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ken Agyapong financed her campaign to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections.

According to her, such claims are false, as Ken Agyapong was out of the country at the time of her election.

Speaking in an interview on Net 2 TV on March 4, 2025, she stated, “I know I am sitting on Ken Agyapong’s TV station, but I won’t lie.

“They claim that he financed my campaign, which is not true. Honourable Ken Agyapong himself would have admitted it if he had. Most of the hate I received was because of him. But at the time, he was out of the country, and it was actually his friend who supported me with some resources.”

She further disclosed that her support for Ken Agyapong has cost her dearly, including an alleged dismissal from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Cynthia contested the 2024 elections as an independent candidate after losing her bid in the NPP primary.
