The Northern Regional chapter of the Dagbon Students’ Association (DASA) has been reconstituted by the Association’s patrons and some chiefs to oversee the welfare and activities of students and energize the base for a productive course.
The reconstitution aims to restructure and redefine the Association’s purpose to align with its vision and mission in accordance with the priorities of Dagbon students.
A mini DASA conference was held at the Tamale Technical University, where the old regional executives were dissolved and an interim executive team was appointed.
Alhassan Seidu Tia from the University for Development Studies has been appointed as the Regional President, while Abdulai Abdul Wahid from TaTU has been appointed as the Regional Chief, Adam Sisu from Bagabaga College of Education has been positioned as the General Secretary.
The reconstituted regional setup is under the patronage of Professor Abdul-Razak Abukari and Mr. Seidu Zakaria, both patrons of the Association.
Other patrons who attended the ceremony include Mr. Mohammed Abdul Jalil (Ambariya SHS Patron), Abdulai Abubakari (Kalpohini SHS Patron), Mr. Yakubu Baba Adam (Tamasco SHS Patron), Mr. Mohammed Gurundoo (Nabisco Patron), and Iddrisu M. Mustapha (Dabokpa Technical Institute).
The patrons prayed for the success of the new executives and urged them to prioritize the interests of Dagbon students in the region and the country at large.
They also cautioned against dormancy and self-centeredness, emphasizing the need for strategic leadership.
Professor Abdul-Razak cautioned the new executives to avoid petty issues that could divide them and instead make themselves accessible to all individuals and groups.
He urged them to serve as ambassadors of peace and advocates for development, refraining from using the Association’s reputation for personal gain or settling personal scores.
The ceremony was attended by traditional authorities, including Choggu Saating Naa, Dr. Nagumsi Alhassan, Choggu Yipieli Naa, Imoro Alhassan, Tijo Nyagn Dana, Savelugu Tibogu Naa, Kpanvo Silimboma, Naa Professor Abdul-Razak, and Kulmang Zobogu, Naa-Yakubu Issahaku.
Several former student chiefs and executives of the Association were duly represented and as well gave their blessings to the new executives.

PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM EXECUTIVES FOR THE REGIONAL DAGBON STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION (DASA)
The leadership of the Dagbon Students Association (DASA) wishes to inform the public, especially all member institutions, that the previously recognized Regional DASA executives have officially been dissolved.
