Ghana’s former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare, has unleashed a scathing attack on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), branding it a “delusional, fractured, and rudderless” force that is no match for the visionary leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
In a fiery statement that has triggered fierce political reactions, Alhaji Sinare—also the longest-serving National Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)—heaped praise on President Mahama, touting him as the embodiment of pragmatic and people-centred governance.
“President Mahama is not just managing an economy that was wrecked by the NPP—he is restoring hope, building unity, and charting a path toward genuine national recovery,” he asserted. “The delusional, rudderless, and fractured NPP, with their tired propaganda and internal power struggles, offer nothing but confusion and chaos. They will rot in opposition for their sins against the Ghanaian people.”
Alhaji Sinare pointed to the President’s efforts in reducing inflation, stabilising the cedi, and unifying a divided nation as proof of his focused and effective leadership. He hailed the ongoing “Accounting to the People” series as a bold act of political transparency and evidence of Mahama’s dedication to accountability and public engagement.
Drawing a sharp comparison between the leadership styles of the NDC and the NPP, Sinare blasted the previous administration’s alleged nepotism at the Presidency.
“Unlike the NPP, which turned the Jubilee House into a bloated clubhouse of family and friends, President Mahama has been deliberate and thoughtful. His appointments reflect competence, not nepotism,” he charged.
Turning his attention squarely on the NPP, Alhaji Sinare painted a picture of a political party on the verge of implosion. He accused the party of operating like a “malfunctioning political cult” consumed by infighting, leadership mistrust, and an inability to confront its own failures—including its refusal to publish its 2024 Election Report.
“Even their own members have lost faith. They are leaking memos, undermining each other, and engaged in a daily civil war of egos,” he said. “They built nothing, broke everything, and now want to rebrand with a new face to deceive the people. Ghana has moved on.”
As Chairman of the NDC’s Zongo Caucus Working Committee, Alhaji Sinare ended his statement with a rallying call for Ghanaians to throw their full support behind President Mahama and the NDC, warning that a return of the NPP would plunge the country back into dysfunction.
“The people of Ghana know who truly has their interests at heart. The NDC under John Mahama is the future—and the momentum is unstoppable,” he declared.
