Nothing can justify the impacts on civilians of wars that result in apocalyptic destruction, reducing whole villages, towns, and cities to rubble. Compiled conservative casualty figures reveal scenarios of unimaginable suffering caused by fighting that generates high death counts and scores of survivors with horrific injuries. Wars are thus abominations warranting leaders who declare them and order military forces to launch battlefield operations to become legitimate targets to be held accountable for their actions. They deserve to executed if that halts wars.
That’s why leaders like Russia’s Putin, Sudan’s Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Rapid Support Forces) and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan (Government Forces), Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, and other belligerent leaders causing misery for their people must be held accountable for their actions – by making them legitimate targets for assassination. The international community must recognize the devastating consequences of wars and work towards holding leaders accountable for their role in initiating and perpetuating conflicts.
