Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the leader and founder of Action Chapel International, a global Charismatic Christian church headquartered in Accra, has responded to allegations made by the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.

Abronye accused the renowned preacher of paying some pastors in the country $10,000 each to pray for President John Dramani Mahama to contest for a third term in office.

Abronye DC, speaking on his Ohiani TV show, accused the man of God of colluding with the said pastors and offering them $10,000 each to conduct prayer sessions for President Mahama’s purported third-term bid.

Reacting to the allegations from his pulpit, Archbishop Duncan-Williams denied the claims and questioned why the Bono NPP Chairman would set him up for public ridicule.

“Somebody had the audacity to lie and say that I gathered 25 bishops and gave them $10,000 each to pray for President Mahama to go another term. You think I’m a kid? Go another term for what? The constitution doesn’t allow that it doesn’t.

“And if that is what I believe, I don’t need to gather 25 bishops and give them money to pray. I can pray myself. And if that is what I believe, I can come out publicly and say it. I’m not afraid of you. I’m not afraid of you and your party.

“If I believe that, I will come out and I will say it. I am entitled to my belief. You can’t do me anything.

“But that is not what I believe. And that is not what he believes. So why are you setting me up? Why are you spreading lies?” he questioned.

He added, “There are people who, for whatever reason, don’t even think. They just hear, Hey, hey, he’s praying, hey, hey. What is wrong with you? Who are you? Believing in lies.”

The visibly upset preacher, speaking passionately from the altar, prayed fervently for the downfall of his attackers while continuing his sermon to the congregation.
