The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that both emergency and planned maintenance works will be carried out on Thursday, May 15, 2025, affecting parts of the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
According to ECG, the maintenance activities are necessary to improve service delivery and ensure a more stable and reliable power supply across the affected areas.
In Greater Accra, emergency maintenance will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with power outages expected in Tseaddo, Marie Court Estate, Avenue Junction, New England, and nearby communities. ECG has apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents and businesses to take the necessary precautions.
In the Ashanti Region, three separate planned maintenance exercises are scheduled throughout the day.
The first operation, running from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will affect Adankwame, Achiase, Kronum Cement, Nketiah, Asuofua, Offinso, Kokote, Abira, Tetrem, Barekese, and surrounding villages.
A second group of communities—including Fawoade, Mamponteng, Ntonso, Asenemaso, Aboaso, Hemang, and others—will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The third maintenance session, also from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will impact areas such as Piase, Deduako, Mim, New Brodakwaw, Beposo, Nyameani, and surrounding localities.
ECG emphasized that these maintenance efforts are part of broader efforts to strengthen the region’s power infrastructure. The company has reiterated its apology for the inconvenience and encourages affected customers to plan accordingly for the temporary disruptions.
