Ghana U-20 head coach Desmond Ofei has described the upcoming quarterfinal against Egypt at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as a final, highlighting the high stakes involved.

A win would see the Black Satellites book a spot at the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile  a tournament Ghana hasn’t featured in since 2015. Speaking ahead of the crucial tie, Ofei emphasized the significance of the game:

“This feels like a final for us. It’s a World Cup qualifier, and that means everything. We’re not just playing Egypt; we’re playing against history.” Ghana, with a storied past in youth football, will take on an Egyptian side Ofei regards highly.

“Egypt is a strong, well-organized team with technically gifted players. We respect them, but we also trust in our own quality,” he added.

The high-stakes showdown is set to take place at the New Suez Stadium, kicking off at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT), with a World Cup berth and national pride on the line.
