Master Elikem Woyome of the Angels’ Ridge School has been crowned ‘Prince of Numeracy’ after he won the Juniors category of Season 3 of the Mathleticus Math Tournament.

Elikem Woyome, a Grade 8 pupil, displayed exceptional ability to outshine his compatriots and clinch the ultimate in the 2025 Mathleticus Math Tournament.

As one of the most competitive maths programmes around, the Mathleticus Math Tournament brought together some of the brightest young minds from junior high schools across the country.

The juniors category of the Mathleticus Math Tournament featured Maths prodigies from well-accomplished schools such as Angels’ Ridge School, DPS Int., Vine Christian High School, and Galaxy International School.

Other candidates who displayed unalloyed love for mathematics came from Life International School, MA CRIG JHS, Nana Osae Djan Cluster 1&2 Basic School, Ghana Christian International High School, and Glorious Child School.

M/A Feden JHS, Osiem M/A Savior Basic ‘B’, Able Academy, Tema International School, and Roman Ridge School also accounted for the rest of the mathematics disciples who thronged the GNAT Hall, Adabraka, Accra on February 1, 2025.

The competition itself was contested in a one-on-one format, with participants answering a set of three questions within a span of 45 seconds.

Victors from each round continued their steady progress to the next round until the final round, where the numeracy reasoning of Elikem proved superior to all.

Elikem’s victory was a hard-fought one, and nothing short of spectacular, as he consistently showcased his knowledge base round after round.

His well-timed answers in the final round secured him the well-deserved title, proving his potential as a world-class mathematician.

Having earned this prestigious accolade, Elikem Woyome is expected to continue excelling in future competitions and further develop his mathematical abilities.

Joining Elikem on the podium as the four topmost young stars in 2025 were Jeana Odamea Okyere-Gyamfi (G9), Galaxy International School, Ebenezer Apeanyo Jnr (G9), Life International School, and Marleh Zienaah Francis (G8), Nana Osae Djan Cluster 1&2 Basic School.

The ground rules for the conduct of Mathleticus 2025 (Juniors) were set and supervised by Dr Angela Tabiri, popularly known as the Maths Queen, and the first African to win the Big Internet Math-Off competition, and Mr Joel Eshun acting as the Quiz mistress and master respectively.

For winning the Juniors category of the Mathleticus Math tournament, Elikem Woyome received a certificate of participation, the ultimate crystal trophy and a gold medal.

Certificates of participation, as well as silver and bronze medals, were given to Jeana, Ebenezer, and Marleh, respectively.

Congratulations to all candidates and schools, and we hope this exposure will serve as a good ground for more amazing outcomes on the international stage.

A big congratulations to all participants, especially the award winners.

Season 3 of the Mathleticus Math Tournament, a challenging yet exciting math competition, is an ATDP/GOA production in partnership with Mr Wu’s Restaurant.
