A man in his late 40s believed to be an ex-chief in the area, identified as Nana Okofrobuo Boateng, has been shot dead by unknown assailants at Kokoben New Site in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

According to the family, they suspect foul play, believing the incident may be a contract killing.

They revealed that Nana Boateng had survived a similar attack last year, but the suspects were never arrested or identified.

In an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, Nana Ama, a sister of the deceased, stated that her brother had gone out to buy food but was shot while entering his gate.

The police at the Bohyen District Command have conducted preliminary investigations at the crime scene, and the body has been deposited at a morgue for further investigation.

No arrests have been made yet.
