Parliament’s Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has confirmed that the Minister for Finance will deliver the Mid-Year Review of the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Making the announcement during parliamentary proceedings, Mr. Ayariga informed the House and the general public that the presentation will provide a comprehensive update on the government’s fiscal performance during the first half of the year and outline any necessary policy or budgetary adjustments for the remainder of 2025.
“Mr. Speaker, I wish to notify this House that the Minister for Finance will appear before Parliament on Thursday to present the Mid-Year Review of the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy,” Mr. Ayariga said while presenting the Business Statement for the ninth week ending Friday, July 25, 2025.
The upcoming address is expected to detail updated economic indicators, including revenue performance, expenditure trends, and revised projections. Analysts anticipate new allocations or adjustments to major government programmes, particularly the Ghana CARES “Obaatan Pa” initiative, as well as investments in agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Parliament is also expected to be briefed on the government’s ongoing debt restructuring efforts, including negotiations with external creditors and development partners.
Mandated by the Public Financial Management Act, the mid-year budget review serves as a constitutional tool for aligning national fiscal policy with evolving economic conditions. It allows government to make informed revisions to ensure macroeconomic stability and sustained development.
