FirstBank has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development by actively participating in the recently concluded Success Africa Summit 2025, a premier motivational conference organised by the LEC Group to inspire and equip the next generation of African leaders.

Held across several major universities in Ghana, the summit engaged more than 1,000 students from institutions including the University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Education (UEW), and the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

The event featured dynamic speaker sessions, mentorship opportunities, and networking engagements aimed at empowering students to become trailblazers in their fields. FirstBank played a pivotal role, with top executives participating as resource persons at various campuses.

Allen Quaye, Head of Retail Banking, spoke at UPSA,

Frank Adotey Addo, Head of Corporate Banking, visited KNUST, and

David Kormlagah, Takoradi Branch Manager, connected with students at UCC.

Their presence and insights showcased FirstBank’s continued dedication to nurturing young talent.

“Empowering the youth is not just a responsibility—it is a necessity for the sustainable growth of our society,” said Victor Yaw Asante, Managing Director and CEO of FirstBank Ghana. “Our commitment is reflected in various initiatives such as youth fairs, internship opportunities, and our Graduate Training Programme. We want to ensure that young people are fully equipped to meet the challenges of the future.”

Over the years, FirstBank has taken concrete steps to support young people through financial literacy webinars, mentorship programmes, and employment-focused training. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to bridge the gap between academia and industry, preparing students to thrive in a fast-evolving job market.

Albert Kusi, CEO of LEC Group and host of the conference, lauded FirstBank’s involvement. “Their support was instrumental in the success of the summit. Beyond sponsoring sessions, FirstBank’s representatives provided critical knowledge on financial literacy and career readiness. Their presence reinforced the summit’s core message—helping young people realise their potential and step confidently into leadership roles.”

As the curtain falls on this year’s Success Africa Summit, FirstBank’s role has set a benchmark for corporate involvement in youth empowerment. The Bank has expressed its readiness to pursue even deeper partnerships to broaden its impact across Ghana.

In a time where economic and social challenges loom large for many young Africans, FirstBank’s hands-on approach to empowering the next generation stands out—not just as a financial institution, but as a long-term partner in national development.
