Former Assin South NPP Chairman and long-serving party stalwart, Theophilus Konadu Taylor, has delivered a stirring message of support following the official launch of the New Patriotic Party’s newly established ideological centre, the Patriotic Institute.
In a goodwill message addressed to the party’s national leadership, Mr. Taylor commended the NPP for what he described as the fulfillment of “a long-held vision,” particularly singling out the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, for his instrumental role in bringing the initiative to life.
“Today is not just about brick and mortar. It is about cementing the soul of our political tradition,” Mr. Taylor declared.
The Patriotic Institute is expected to serve as the intellectual and ideological backbone of the NPP, reinforcing the party’s commitment to its founding principles: patriotism, rule of law, liberty, and private sector-led development.
Mr. Taylor described the Institute as a timely intervention that would strengthen the party’s philosophical foundations and deepen its identity.
“We must take time to understand who we are. We are not just a party. We are a movement built on the ideals of freedom, justice, and enterprise. In a time when our country demands clarity of purpose and strength of vision, this Institute arrives not a moment too soon,” he stated.
Now serving as a patron of the party, the former Chairman encouraged both young and old members of the NPP to embrace what he termed “a new ideological frontier,” urging them to reconnect with the principles that distinguish the party from others on Ghana’s political landscape.
In a pointed remark aimed at political opponents, Taylor added: “It is under the NPP that Ghanaians enjoy sacred freedom without fear or intimidation. That’s our legacy. And it’s our duty to protect it.”
The launch of the Patriotic Institute comes as the NPP prepares for a pivotal electoral cycle, with the party looking to sharpen its message and renew its appeal among a growing and youthful electorate.
Mr. Taylor concluded his message with a rousing call to action: “Let us remain united in purpose, grounded in our beliefs, and resolute in our commitment to building a prosperous Ghana.”
Reacting to the message, a senior party official remarked, “Theophilus speaks for the silent majority. This isn’t just about theory, this is about putting fire in the party’s belly.”
As the NPP looks to the future, the Patriotic Institute is expected to play a central role in shaping its ideological direction and reinforcing its core values ahead of the 2028 elections.
