The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawase Constituency has taken disciplinary action against four of its branch executives following their involvement in actions described as inappropriate and contrary to party values.

The suspended members — Murtala Muhammed, Farida Mohammed, Aminu Issah, and Salisu Sanusi — were identified in a viral video making disparaging comments about the President, the National Executive Committee, and the nominated Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong.

Their suspension, announced in an official statement signed by the Constituency Secretary, took immediate effect. The party also disclosed that the matter has been forwarded to the disciplinary committee for further review and appropriate sanctions.

According to the statement, Murtala Muhammed holds the position of Branch Youth Organiser for Malam Kataki, Farida Mohammed is the Branch Women’s Organizer for Malam Ladan, while Aminu Issah and Salisu Sanusi serve as Branch Communications Officers for Methodist Home Science JSS 2 and Methodist JSS, respectively.

“Such behavior is in direct violation of the party’s code of conduct and undermines the unity and discipline that are essential to our success. The Asawase Constituency Executive Committee takes these matters seriously and reaffirms its commitment to protecting the integrity of the party,” part of the statement noted.

The Executive Committee emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and mutual respect within the party and urged all members to avoid conduct that could damage the NDC’s image and unity.

“We urge all members to remain respectful, united, and focused on the greater objective of advancing the NDC’s vision and mission.”
