Frimpong-Manso Institute celebrates motherhood on Mother’s Day

The Frimpong-Manso Institute (FMI) has joined the global community in commemorating Mother’s Day, paying tribute to the enduring dedication, love, and selflessness of mothers around the world.

In a press release issued on Sunday, May 11, 2025, and shared with the OTEC News Desk, the Institute described mothers as the foundation of families, communities, and society, shaping future generations through their unwavering guidance and strength.

A Labor of Love
In the statement signed by the President of the Institute, Rev. Professor Paul Frimpong-Manso, the FMI emphasized the multifaceted nature of motherhood, describing it as a calling that involves nurturing, teaching, and protecting.

“Mothers are the primary caregivers, mentors, and role models, instilling values, morals, and life skills in their children. Their tireless efforts often go unappreciated, yet their impact is felt throughout their children’s lives,” the release said.

Diverse Paths to Motherhood
The Institute also highlighted that motherhood is not confined to a single path. From biological and adoptive mothers to foster parents and grandmothers, each role embodies the same deep commitment to nurturing and care.

FMI celebrated this diversity, acknowledging both the challenges and the triumphs that come with each unique experience of motherhood.

A Call to Appreciation
The Institute extended heartfelt gratitude to mothers around the globe, with particular emphasis on Ghanaian mothers for their contributions to family and national life.

“As we celebrate Mother’s Day, FMI encourages everyone to reflect on the significant contributions mothers make to our lives.”

The Institute noted that acts of care—whether through whispered words of encouragement, sleepless nights, or daily sacrifices—often go unnoticed, but they are central to the well-being of families and communities.

A Message of Appreciation
To conclude, the FMI offered this simple but powerful message: “We see you, we thank you, and we celebrate you.”

May this special day remind every mother of the profound and lasting impact they have on those around them.
