Gabriel Tanko Kwamega-Atokple, a 36-year-old businessman, has been elected as the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, securing 24 out of 35 votes in a highly competitive election.
The election, which saw nine candidates receiving zero votes, underscored Kwamega-Atokple’s strong support within the region.
A seasoned business professional and politician, Kwamega-Atokple has vast experience in corporate leadership, gold sales, real estate development, and public service. He is the CEO of Sesi-Edem Company Limited and the founder of TK Realties, leading initiatives in responsible mining and real estate development.

Beyond business, he is known for his philanthropic efforts through the Tanko Foundation, which focuses on education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. A committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he has actively contributed to policy development and social welfare initiatives in Ghana.
His election to the Council of State is expected to bring fresh perspectives and business expertise to the advisory body, representing the interests of the Volta Region at the national level.
