The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has confirmed a temporary halt in gas supply resulting from a major technical malfunction on the Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah.
In an official statement issued by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Richmond Rockson, Esq., the fault was attributed to a damaged compressor discovered over the weekend.
“On Saturday, May 10, 2025, around 4 pm, damage to a compressor on the Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah has led to a temporary suspension of gas supply,” the statement read.
The Ministry explained that initial investigations point to the need for extensive repairs to restore operations. Engineers are currently on-site working to assess the full extent of the damage and implement corrective measures.
“Initial assessments suggest the need for significant repairs. The team is currently working diligently to implement necessary repairs to restore the supply of gas as soon as possible,” the Ministry stated.
Officials have pledged to keep the public informed with timely updates as efforts continue to fix the fault and stabilize supply.
“Regular updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” the ministry added.
