Organisers of the Ghana-China Business Summit have expressed their appreciation to the Modern Ghana News Network and several other media houses for their extensive coverage and support during the recently held five-day event, which ran from June 23 to 27.
In a statement issued by the summit’s convenor and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World Company Limited, Mr. Dennis Anderson, the organisers acknowledged that the success of the summit was partly due to the dedication and wide-reaching efforts of the media.
He singled out media organisations such as the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Ghanaian Times, TV XYZ, Praise TV, Joy News, GHOne TV, Citi FM, Business and Financial Times, and many others for their roles in amplifying the summit’s objectives to the public.
Held under the theme “Synergising Opportunities: Strengthening the Ghana-China Business Relationship and Fostering a 24-Hour Economy,” the event brought together senior executives from Chinese companies, Ghanaian entrepreneurs, and investors. It served as a platform to deepen bilateral economic ties, promote trade and investment, and reinforce Ghana’s status as the gateway to the West African market.
According to Mr. Anderson, one of the summit’s key legacies will be the implementation of what he called “The Next Stage Strategic Plan,” designed to ensure that participants go beyond networking and take advantage of concrete business opportunities. “We will provide support services and other strategic business enhancement programmes for all to move to the next stage,” he said.
Mr. Anderson further disclosed that the summit secretariat would function as a resource hub for participating organisations, with a rollout of sector-specific breakfast meetings aimed at building productive partnerships with the Chinese business community.
He described the opening ceremony as colourful and impactful, especially with the strategic statement delivered on behalf of the government by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah. The event also featured robust panel discussions by industry experts addressing a wide range of topics.
The discussions spanned crucial areas such as energy cooperation, trade and investment opportunities within Ghana’s Free Zones, digital innovation, road infrastructure, security, and educational partnerships. Other panels explored financial cooperation between Ghana and China, healthcare investment, and agricultural collaboration aimed at sustainable development.
The summit was jointly organised by Perfect World Company Limited and Sino-Africa Group, with backing from corporate supporters including Fidelity Bank, Tobinco Pharmaceutical Limited, Engineers and Planners, Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Labadi Beach Hotel, Dzata Cement, Lifeline Haven Company, and several others.
Mr. Anderson concluded by reiterating the organisers’ commitment to maintaining momentum from the summit and ensuring that the gains made translate into long-term economic partnerships and tangible investments.
