The Minister for Communication, Digitalization and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has engaged in discussions with representatives from the Danish Embassy to explore potential partnerships in the areas of digitalization and innovation.
The discussions highlighted the growing importance of Techplomacy, which involves integrating technology into foreign policy and international collaboration.
The meeting, held last Friday in Accra aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and leverage Denmark’s expertise in driving digital growth and sustainable development.
The Minister emphasized several key areas for collaboration, particularly Ghana’s eagerness to learn from Denmark’s effective GovTech solutions. Notable examples include cBrain’s F2 Software and eBoks, which streamline government documents, tax reports, medical records, and various citizen services into a secure digital framework.
Mr. George noted that Denmark’s expertise in renewable energy and green technologies presents valuable opportunities for Ghana as it pursues its Green Transition, with potential partnerships aimed at strengthening the country’s sustainable development initiatives.
He emphasized Ghana’s aspiration to cultivate its own tech industries and seek insights from Denmark’s innovative methods in technology and entrepreneurship.
The discussions included the possibility of a partnership with the Danish Meteorological Institute to enhance the digitalization of the Ghana Meteorological Agency, which would improve climate resilience and disaster preparedness.
The Danish delegation was led by Ambassador Tom Norring and accompanied by Priscilla Owusuaa Opoku and Kim Sarup.
