The Ghana Health Service has confirmed 34 new cases of Mpox, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 79.
Officials from GHS have indicated that four patients are currently hospitalized and being closely monitored.
In response to this uptick in cases, contact tracing efforts have been ramped up to help contain the spread of the disease.
The recent increase in Mpox cases has raised concerns among the public. However, health officials have sought to reassure citizens, stating that the situation is manageable and there is no immediate cause for alarm.
In light of the outbreak, the GHS is encouraging the public to take preventive measures. These include practicing good personal hygiene, avoiding close contact with individuals showing symptoms—particularly those with unexplained rashes—and seeking medical attention promptly if any symptoms arise.
