Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has saluted mothers across the country, praising their strength and sacrifices in a moving message to mark Mother’s Day.
In a statement issued on Sunday, May 11, she recognized the critical role mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers play in shaping families and holding communities together.
“Today, we honour the women whose strength, love, and everyday sacrifices build the foundation of our families and communities,” she stated.
The Vice President, who has consistently championed gender equity and social development, used the occasion to express gratitude on behalf of the country to all women who give selflessly to nurture and support others.
“To every mother, grandmother, caregiver, and mother figure: thank you. May you feel the deep gratitude of a nation that thrives because of you,” she said.
Her tribute comes at a time when the Vice President herself is recovering from a brief illness and preparing to return to her official duties. Her message resonated deeply with many, especially as it came not only from a national leader but also from a mother and educator who has long advocated for women’s empowerment.
