Ghana will host the 18th Edition of the E-learning Africa Conference from June 3 to 5, 2026, to showcase its remarkable progress in educational transformation.

Dr Clement Abass Apaak, the Deputy Minister of Education, announced this in Accra at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry and E-Learning Africa in Accra, ahead of the conference.

The agreement signals Ghana’s commitment to being at the forefront of Africa’s digital education revolution.

It also represents the country’s shared commitment to ensuring that every Ghanaian child, whether in urban Accra or rural communities, has access to quality education enhanced by technology.

The conference will highlight the incredible energy of Ghana’s young innovators, who are not just adopting technology but creating it.

“Since 2005, E-Learning Africa has been the continent’s premier platform for educational innovation, bringing together thousands of professionals who share our vision of transforming how we teach and learn across Africa,” Dr Apaak said.

“We are not just hosting a conference; we are opening our doors to the world to witness a living example of educational innovation in action.”

He said initiatives like the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) and the Education Strategic Plan running through 2030 had demonstrated that the country was serious about delivering results, not just promises.

“Through our partnership with the System Change Architecture for Learning Excellence, we have attracted additional funding from international philanthropic and private sector partners,” Dr Apaak said.

“These include the Jacobs Foundation, Botnar Foundation, UBS Optimus Foundation, 10 cocoa and chocolate companies, and the Global Partnership for Education for GALOP.”

He explained that the partnership would help expand GALOP’s coverage from 10,000 to over 15,000 public schools, reaching two million primary school children and training 64,000 teachers.

“As we sign this agreement, we are taking a concrete step toward making Ghana a hub for educational excellence in West Africa.”

“We are building partnerships that will extend far beyond three days in June, creating lasting connections that will benefit learners across our continent.”

Dr Apaak commended e-Learning Africa for the confidence reposed in Ghana, describing the initiative as an opportunity to demonstrate the country’s leadership in Africa’s educational transformation.

Ms Rebecca Stromeyer, the Founder and Executive Director, e-Learning Africa, said the collaboration would help Ghana to showcase its excellence in education to the delegates at the conference.

The conference would enhance knowledge sharing among the delegates and learning from best practices in ensuring quality education.
