A Ghanaian tech enthusiast has developed a mobile application that converts documents into instant quiz games for convenient learning.

The app, known as Qai, employs artificial intelligence in turning uploaded documents into trivia games that allows its users to easily provided answers to questions.

With traditional education methods sometimes presenting complications in holding the attention of young learners, the app comes in as a handy tool for exciting, interactive,
and effective learning.

It facilitates users to retain information across a wide range of topics and subjects like science, history, religon and general knowledge.

App developer, Benjamin Etrue, shared the motivation behind the development of the app, indicating education must be less cumbersome.

“Education shouldn’t feel like a chore. Qai turns learning into an exciting game, and your content into a challenge, helping users build knowledge while having fun. I developed Qai to address a key challenge: making learning more engaging and accessible for all age groups ,” he said.

The app users upload any document and instantly transform it into a personalized quiz tailored to different age groups and educational levels.

It combines gamification with learning, offering quizzes that are both entertaining and educational.

“For Ghana’s educational sector, Qai offers a creative tool to supplement classroom learning, encourage independent study, and spark curiosity among students,” he said.

It promotes critical thinking, faster recall, and knowledge retention – key skills needed for academic success.

The App recently emerged as one of the 12 global finalists at the second edition of the Create Apps Championship – a global competition organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Aimed at creating a platform of applications for the Arabian country, the Create Apps Championship 2025 saw over 4710 registrations from 132 countries, 340 mobile app ideas qualified with 24 semi-finalists selected.

“While the jury faced tough decisions, it is important to emphasize that being part of the semi-finalists is a remarkable achievement. My mobile app project stood out among hundreds, showcasing talent, creativity, and potential to thrive in the competitive world of app development. It was an extraordinary experience, providing mentorship, global exposure, and invaluable feedback to refine and scale the app,” Mr. Etrue noted.

Qai is expected to include more contents in the future to cover curriculum-specific subjects, introduce local language options, and create a competitive leaderboard to encourage friendly rivalry among schools and individuals.

“We also aim to partner with educational institutions and stakeholders in Ghana and across Africa to integrate Qai into broader learning initiatives,” he concluded.
