Gabriel Atokple Kwamigah Tanko, the Volta Region’s representative on Ghana’s Council of State, recently hosted a distinguished delegation from the United States.
The delegation was led by Dr. Alix Desulme, the Mayor of North Miami, Florida, who also serves as the Vice President of all Mayors in the U.S.
The primary focus of their meeting was to strengthen economic ties, explore investment opportunities, and promote sustainable development between Ghana and its diaspora communities.
In a statement shared on social media, Tanko highlighted Ghana’s significant economic potential and emphasized the importance of investing in the nation’s future. He stressed the need for strategic partnerships that can leverage the country’s abundant resources to foster long-term growth.
“I highlighted how utilizing Ghana’s rich resources and cultivating meaningful partnerships can drive sustainable growth. This message resonated strongly with the delegation, who showed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Ghana,” he stated.
In addition to discussing business and economic opportunities, Tanko passionately advocated for increased support for Ghana’s health sector, particularly in the Volta Region. He urged the delegation to prioritize initiatives aimed at improving healthcare services for women and children, aligning with a broader vision of inclusive development.
The visiting delegation was composed of influential figures from various sectors, all of whom commended Tanko’s vision and leadership. They recognized his ambitious yet practical approach to economic growth and development, especially given his youth and position as a member of Ghana’s Council of State.

– Luc Allens Honoport, CEO of Global Financial Insurance Group.
