The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has assured workers of Zoomlion Ghana Limited of an imminent salary increase.

This announcement was shared in a viral post on social media on Friday, May 23, 2025.

“God forbid that I pay you GH¢250 again,” he declared.

Basintale criticised the longstanding remuneration structure, describing it as outdated and unjust.

He revealed that the contract, signed under the previous administration, has remained unchanged for over seven years and nine months, during which workers have continued to earn GH¢250 as a monthly salary.

He described the existing contract as both unfair and exploitative, vowing not to renew it in its current form.

“I promise on my honour, as I stand by the grave of my late dad, not to renew the contract in its current state or form. It is EVIL for the previous government to have committed to this, and I SHALL STOP IT,” he wrote on his X page.
